What:  Wreaths Across America (WAA) Ceremony
When: Saturday, December 12, 2015, 8-10 a.m.
Where:  Deschutes Memorial Gardens Mausoleum

Reply to Cari Bailey if your Scout wants to participate.  A Scout must be Star Rank or above to participate in the flag raising, however, younger Scouts are encouraged to attend in uniform.  Parents are also encouraged to attend in uniform.  The following Scouts have so far expressed interested in the flag raising, but we need more:
1. Levi (might have ski race so ?)
2. Marshall (might have ski race so ?)
3.  Dylan
4.  Rohan (is he star rank?)  If not, please attend anyway!
5. Jack Wise
A second service opportunity associated with Wreaths Across America for approximately 2 hours:
What:  WAA stake and flag placement on the graves
When:  Friday, December 11, 2015, 3-5 p.m.
Where: Deschutes Memorial Gardens (DMG)
Details:  An opportunity to prepare the graves for the WAA ceremony on Saturday morning.  Stakes and American flags need to be placed on the individual Veteran graves, which will then receive a wreath on Saturday morning.  So come after school to DMG, near the Mausoleum, and earn up to 2 services hours (it gets dark at 5:00!).  If possible, wear your uniform as other Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will be participating as well.  This Friday event does not need a sign-up but check in with Cari Bailey when you come so that you get credit for participation.

Plea for an Adult to lead a December camping event!

Posted on Nov 19 2015 - 7:20pm
Hello Parents,
Troop 21 is in need of an adult to lead a December campout.  I was originally going to lead a trip to Shellburg Falls, which is about 22 miles east of Salem.  I now need to be at Mt. Bachelor that Sunday for my little guy's snowboard lessons, thus cannot volunteer to be the primary adult in charge.  We are looking for someone to volunteer to be the lead for Shellburg Falls or if you have a spot that you feel more comfortable with closer to town that is fine.  If anyone is up for Shellburg Falls I have all the info and can likely participate that Fri and Sat.  At this point we are simply looking for an adult to lead a Troop campout (anywhere) the weekend of Dec 4-6.
Please contact me if you are interested.
Thank you,
Kevin Noren
Troop 21 Outdoor Coordinator
